What's all the buzz about attraction marketing? I'm an old dog, 62 and soon to be63. My background in sales was something like this. Call, call, call and call some more. When the prospect was an objection, they are in, answer it and close it again. This worked quite well until sometime in the 1970's when someone let the cat out of the bag and began to train consumers about the sales methods taught at the time. Outlook started getting more and more resistance. It became harder and harder to "sell."About this time I attended a sales seminar as one of the gurus of all good sales time, Zig Ziglar. He said something that resonated with me and totally changed my life forever. It was the simple statement that "in life can only get what you want if you help enough other people get what they want." This revelation changes the life completely changed the way they did business. Was not there trying to sell something people. I started studying what he wanted and helped them buy. I became a person associates.At this point in my life there was no such thing as Attraction Marketing, no public awareness of The Secret, in fact, there was no Internet. Information moved more slowly and was more difficult to test and develop new marketing methods. The main sources for the development occurs through direct mail, cold calls and knocking on doors. All these methods are very exhausting and stressful. However, I began to direct all my presentations to the discovery of what people are looking for and how it could help achieve the objective sought.Almost by magic, the results began to appear for me. At first it was hard to believe that this material worked. As time went on I actually started an internal change. My self-esteem was much higher. I changed my mind about how to sell to how I can help. Emphasis added focus on the money to focus on people and what their wants and needs were. I started to become a "tour guide" showing how to get what they wanted. My business really took off.I never realized what he was doing. It was more instinctive than expected. These methods served me well for several decades. As the world moves into the 21st century what he was doing has a name. It even has a book about it called Permission Marketing. "In the fast world of the Internet became the best way to successfully market its products. Marketing authorization comes with a price for the seller. He had the confidence of those who chose this place and had to maintain or chose not to. Salespeople were forced to add value to maintain relationships that developed. In essence, this is what I was doing, but another light bulb went I saw my unconscious coded methods. As a seller time and sales coach I joined this wave, like a tick on a dog. I had the opportunity to see how using the technology available and the ability to communicate his message of people in Bulk that can enhance any business with incredible speed. I just had to learn to market and brand yourself as the person who had the answers and not only had the answers, but they were willing to share with others. This was the Zig Ziglar statement on steroids. Many people think the Internet is a playground that serves youth and this is the case, but an old dog with great experience and ability to keep up with trends and technology can make a big impression powerful. To create your little corner of the virtual universe where you can have your business succeed all you need do is attract enough like-minded people willing to work with you. People always attracted people with something to offer, if I feel that people can trust. Trust is the essence of marketing methods today. You must provide a value, trustworthy and what you say you will do. In using what is known as Attraction Marketing or Web 2. 0 Marketing you can build a great business with very little expenditure of direct marketing. You have to devote time and energy and maintain their reputation, but the rewards for doing this is amazing. The best most all of your marketing will be absolutely free.
